Can A Landlord Enter My Home In NC Without My Knowledge?
Home was given to my wife and I. Wife passed away, father in law took home back. I am moving out and he goes in without my knowing...

He has to give you a notice of some sort telling you he will be entering the premises so no, he cannot enter without your knowledge, it's illegal. Is home in your wife's name? Still does NOT give him a legal right to enter without your permission; you're still a tenant until you turn over those keys.

If you are paying mortgage with or without lease, you are the spouse to someone who is on the title to the property. You reside in the residence, and the father-in-law does not.
He does not have the right to enter the premises without your permission, with or without the intent to sell the property. All you can do really is talk to him about it, and tell him that this is not proper procedure after the death of your wife, and you would like him to adhere to the proper procedures for legal practicalities. Hope this helps, good luck.

Do you pay him rent? do you have a lease? if no to the latter i am afraid he can. if yes to the latter read your lease, there lies your answer within the lease.
