    The Pythagorean Theorem says the square of the measure of the hypotenuse of a right triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the measures of the other two sides.
    If "c" represents the length of the hypotenuse of the right triangle whose sides are a and b, then
    a2 + b2 = c2

    There are a few Pythagorean triples worth remembering. One of the more widely known is the 3-4-5 triple.
    32 + 42 = 52
    9 + 16 = 25

    Another is 5-12-13.
