What Is The Purpose Of The Artist In Romanesque Art?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

It is a Western Europe art and artists usually come up with round-headed arches, acanthus leaf decoration, apses and barrel vaults. The artistic work of Romanesque artists shows that they are highly inspired of Byzantine art in paintings and Insular art of British Isles. Artists are aimed to provide innovative and coherent art work. Scenes from the life of Christ, The last judgment and Byzantine iconographic models in churches are some of the main subjects of artists in Romanesque Art. These artists have not done much work in portraiture and their work is more close to abstract decorations as compare to realism as it is evident from "Morgan Leaf".
