Explain The Steps You Would Take To Write 3 6/10 As A Decimal?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

First you will want to convert 3 6/10 (a mixed fraction) into a compound fraction by taking the 3, multiplying by the denominator - 10 - to get 30. Now add the 6 to that, so you have 36/10 this is also 36.0/10.0   Now move the decimal point in both the numerator and the denominator one spot to the left so you have 3.6/1.0. Now you don't need the denominator since it is one anymore so you have 3.6.
