Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A British Sitcom from the seventies, 'and mother makes five' was a sequel to the earlier 'and mother makes three'. It centers on the life of Sally Harrison played by Wendy Craig who marries David Redway (Richard Coleman) to become Sally Redway. It is based on the domestic life of these two households and Sally's ordeals in raising her unmannered children as a single mother (widowed).

It was shown between 1974 and 1976 and comprised of four series of 26 episodes having a length of 30 minutes each. It was written and produced by Richard Waring with additional writer credits for Brian Cooke, Johnnie Mortimer and even Wendy Craig under the pseudonym Jonathan Marr. It had a supposed happy ending with Sally Harrison marrying the antique book seller David Redway a widower himself. Most of the cast was the same as the earlier series.
