Is A Hamster A Good Pet?
I was thinking about getting a hamster. Are they expensive? Hard to take care of? Mean?

I think they are. I have 11 right now (my hamster just had babies). They are easy to take care of once you get everything for them. You mainly have to clean out it's cage, feed and water them, and give them love. They can bite, but I rarely do get bitten. Hamsters might not be as fun as other pets, but they can be so cute and funny!

My first pet as a child was a hamster. I named my first one Judy she was my responsibility and my parents left it all up to me except for buying the food... I was only about 6 or 7. They can be very tame when handled on a regular basis... I remember laying on the floor with Judy in my shirt watching her go in and out my sleeves she was a tiny cuddle buddy we did everything together. I also remember when we first brought her home we found out she was pregnant, and one day she escaped... A few days later she came up the steps of the back porch where I was playing right into my hands with her little pouches full of greens... She had her babies in her cage the next day and a few weeks later all my friends had hamsters too. She was my favorite pet growing up and when she died of old age I got another hamster and named it Judy.

Yes hamsters are great pets to have. You will have those who are mean but they are also trainable.

I don't like hamsters much. They aren't expensive. Some of them are for 5 dollars! But they aren't that entertaining. Cats and dogs are way better.
