A Girl Rat Can Have Tumors. But I'd Have To Neuter A Boy Rat. Which One Is Cheaper?
I have to save money for other stuff for my rat but then i thought BOY or GIRL??? Please answer me or there is no way I'll be able to get a rat!

Actually, they both get tumors, so don't be surprised if a boy gets one. The only way to avoid the tumors is to get them from a really good breeder. Come straight up and say, "How are your rats with tumors?" A good breeder should be able to get a vet who confirms a healthy rat line. Personally, I think boys are more trouble, because they are more territorial and aggressive.

There is one other thing you must consider with regard to cost. If health care for your pet is going to be too expensive for you to afford, you need to decide if it would be fair to an animal to be with a person who can't afford to take care of it. This is a very serious matter and unfortunately too many people do not take it into consideration.
