Does Van Morrison Write His Own Songs?

Van Morrison has written several songs over the years. His most famous single written and performed is "Brown Eyed Girl". It was written in 1967 and was produced by Bang records head Bert Burns. The song first appeared on the album "Blowing Your Mind" it turned out to be the biggest hit of Morrison's career.

A radio edit version of the song was released because the original lyrics about a longing lover were thought to be too racy. The song was originally supposed to be released under name "Brown Skinned Girl" but was later changed to "Brown Eyed Girl". The song has been such a big hit that it has been performed by many various artists; it reached number #10 on the US Bill Board charts.
