Can An Employer Make You Take A Lunch If You Only Work A 4 Hour Shift?

    Ye they have to give all employees a break

      By law, an employer is supposed to give a 15 min. Break minimum, but if he insists on giving you an hour, this mean most like unpaid, so that he only has to pay for three hours. Check with your local employment office to be sure this is legal

        If you live in one of the states which passed a glorious "right to work" legislation there is absolutely nothing an employer cannot ask you to do. Idaho, for instance guarantees you to be paid overtime for any hours worked beyond forty in a week. Other than that you have no guaranteed breaks, lunches, nothing. And for frosting on the cake you can be fired without cause.
