    Motorways are called Autostrada in Italy and the word is of Italian and Romanian origins. The highways are also called Autostrada in Poland, Switzerland, Lithuania, Albania, Belgium, Egypt and Israel. The maximum speed limit of the Autostrada in Italy is 130 kilometers per hour for cars while it is 80 kilometers per hour for trucks. Italy is the first country to have started building such roads and the first Autostrada was made in 1929 between Milan and Varese. The total length of the Autostrada system is 6400 kilometers.
