Wolverhampton Civic Hall is said to be one of the principal live music venues in UK's West Midlands for quite a few decades. The hall was constructed around the late 1930s subsequent to a design competition which was held in the year 1934 and was won by Lyons and Israel.
They were awarded the contract to create a large concert hall and a smaller one, for drama and chamber presentations. The halls were given a facelift in the year 2001 to increase the seating capacity to 3000 and to present new backstage and public facilities. There was another much smaller third venue built in the year 2001, which would hold events for upcoming bands. The hall on regular basis has held miscellaneous entertainment programs since its inauguration.
