It takes a few hundred more amps to start an engine than it does to run the lights and accessories.
Sounds like you may have a battery problem. Could just be a bad/loose connection on one or both of the battery terminals or the battery may be bad.
You can take the battery out and have it load tested to be sure that it is still good.
