The Pentax K1000 basically is a beginner level 35 mm film, solo-lens reflex camera which is able to accept different types of lenses.

To open the back section of the Pentax K1000, turn it up side down, the lens should be facing the ground and the back section should be facing towards you. Once you turn the camera upside down you shall see, that towards the right hand corner there is a small button, press this button gently and lift the rare section up. The Pentax 1000 was designed by Asahi Optical and was launched in the year 1976. The Pentax 1000 applies horizontal travel along with a rubberised silk cloth focal plane shutter and has a speed variety of nearly 1/1000 second to 1 second. Some other well known members of the Pentax K family are the Pentax K2, KM and KX all of whom were released in the year 1975.
