What Causes Meningitis?

Does it come from a cold or virus? Is it some type of bacteria in your body that causes meningitis? What exactly causes people to get it and spread it to other people?

    It can be caused by:
    - Viruses.
    - Bacteria
    - Fungi
    - or can be ASEPTIC (no organism)

      It is highly contagious!!  Drinking  out of the same can, cup or bottle,kissing, and also some times just being really close with contact with the person that has it.  I Think it's both a virus and bacteria.  Most  common  in young teenagers.   There's tons of info all over the web.  You should check it out.  And if you think someone you know has it,  Tell them to get to the dr,  and stay away!!!   Hope I could help and good luck.
