    Yes, hamsters can have meal worms from the pet store and crickets only.

      Yes. Hamsters in the wild actually eat insects. You can feed them mealworms or crickets. Be careful not to give the hamster more mealworms than they can handle for the mealworms will become beetles in a few days. You probably shouldn't be feeding hamsters insects out of the garden. You can go to almost any pet store or reptile store to purchase some. Insects are a very good source of protein for hamsters :) also it's really cute to watch them chase crickets around their habitat.
