Originally the Catholics and protestants fought because the Catholic Church owned and controlled pretty much EVERYTHING and the 'protestants' were the protestors, those who rebelled against Catholic power and control and believed many catholic beliefs were wrong.   They were the Rebellion and the Catholic Church was the Empire.  We continue today to 'fight'  over ideology as … Read more
