    One of the most confusing things for visitors to Paris is figuring out the tip system. Unlike the US where tips are expected (and considered part of the wages paid), in France by law a 15% service compris is always included in the price wherever you eat or drink.Apr 7, 2007.

No- not in most of Europe or in fact the rest of the world.  Other countries simply pay their waitstaff a living wage, so there's no need for tipping.  Here in the US they deliberately pay waitstaff a wage ludicrously low (around $3 an hour) so they can push the costs of their wages onto … Read more
