Eat more. Protein is only one facet of nutrition to add muscle mass. You'll need to eat more often, drink more water, insure all your nutrient requirements are met. Then be sure to get enough rest to allow recovery and rebuilding. Avoid overtraining.

Not everyone can grow a full beard. Perhaps he does not have the facial hair capable of growing a full beard. I happen to be of those that can, so I do, but my wife won't let me grow a ZZ top type beard.
