It is a complex mixture of hydrocarbons. The C-H bonds on the hydrocarbons are pretty stable, so the H will not be lost as H+; acidic, and nor will they seek to grab additional H+; alkaline reaction.
Here's my basic recipe:
For the Crust:
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup ground toasted pecans (you can use all graham if you like)
1 Tbsp. Sugar
5Tbsp. Butter, melted
- Combine crumbs, nuts, sugar, and butter and press into the bottom of a 9" springform pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes then let cool.
