My family has a landline and we keep getting calls from a number that starts with 517 884 and the caller id says University of and it never finishes. So I'm just wondering why they are calling. And they've called at least two times?

It's probably a scam. It's called "caller ID spoofing". It's illegal. Only law enforcement can so this under special circumstances.
