“Talk to your doctor. Generally I think it's ill-advised for any woman to have vaccines when pregnant, because it's unclear what effect they will have on the baby. Usually the recommendation is for women to not travel to areas where they need vaccines while pregnant. There's also not really a malaria vaccine that I know of - typically, you take malaria pills while traveling to places where malaria is prevalent. There are different kinds of pills, and some can have really nasty side effects, like extreme mood fluctuations and hallucinations. I don't think any of this would be at all good to expose a baby to, but I'm not a doctor, so definitely consult your primary care physician or obstetrician before exposing the baby to any kind of pill or vaccine.”
