krystald30 ,i now live in virginia where the doctor who switched methadone lives . My doctor who originally prescribed methadone for me lives in albany, new york . I am so sleepy all the time , i can not walk without assistance from my husband and son, my husband has to bathe and dress me , all my daily living skills are at a low, and i am a type 2 diabetic , non-insulin . Can i take 2 percocet instead of 1 percocet for the excruiating pain that does not respond to the pain. Can i take 25 -50 mg. Of benadryl to help me get some needed sleep with the percocet ?
after being on methadone for 5 years, you would have to be weaned off it. Sounds like your doctor just switched the prescription without weaning you off the Methadone properly. Methadone is stored in the fat and takes a long time to detox from and feel normal again. I detoxed properly from 100mg and it still took me 3 months to feel normal again. I think you are having withdrawals still. You need to tell the doctor about this and maybe even consider going back to the other doctor who was prescribing the Methadone.
