Yea, sorry the Elliot Smith music didn't do it for you. I really don't listen to him much, I've only heard a couple of his songs. Not really into that kind of music. The song "Fond Farewell to Friends" is like his suicide note or something so it's kind of sad that way. My daughter suggested "Needle in the Hay", also Elliot Smith, she said it's sad, too. The band Bright Eyes has some depressing stuff and The Decemberists do, too but they're more morbid. Why do you want really depressing songs? Are you wanting to listen to the lyrics or the music that is more depressing?
