I'm glad you like the thought of the fishing derby, it takes place in Seward around August. It is so beautiful there, and the smell of the salt air is so inviting, begs you to stay.
Did you hear about the Sliver Salmon Derby in Seward? It is usually in August. You buy a ticket daily, and fish away, pray that you get the fish with the tag, or the largest fish of the season. You can win $50,000 for the tagged one, and quit a bit for the largest one caught.
I hope you didn't run into clouds the whole time you were up here. This is officially the worst summer ever in our history! There have only been officially 4 days where the temperature has reached over 70. Normally we get into the upper 70s and into the 80s, with tons of sun. I really hope that next year is better. I am so happy that you liked it up here. This weeks podcast is about Alaska if you haven't checked it out already, you might want to listen to it.
