My computer downloads all available downloads ( using automatic downloads )but wont install them.. Any Ideas?

Can I Check If My Graphics Card Is Malfunctioning?
Can i check my graphics card and ram chips for malfunctions,,I have done the device manager thing which says all is well but flight sim 2004 and fsx both crash my computer so I suspect one or the other....
