I live with my mom who is 79. We both have our own sets of ailments. We do have a dog. She is a sweet spirit, but has a mind of her own. (She understands commands, and chooses NOT to obey). She is like me though in that she has an anxiety disorder. She is on "puppy Prozac" which has helped to calm her down some. But she wore out two professional trainers, and so she is basically a leash dog in the house. We have a walled in backyard so she is off leash to run around then. The thing that frustrates me in an overwhelming way, is that to have a pet these days costs so much money. The veterinarians are outrageously expensive here. It was not that way when I was growing up. My mom and I have talked about getting a cat, but the expense of two pets is just too much. I wish we could have cats. I grew up with cats and dogs, so love them both, but have to admit I am especially partial to cats. I really hate how expensive the animal doctors have made it these days. It makes it impossible to really take care of a pet the way you would want. Anyway, nice to hear from you.
