About Me

I'm currently a home-maker, married for the second time to a very sweet man. I do enjoy reading about all the diversified interests people have -- it's what makes the world so interesting. I retired from working outside the home 7 years ago, and was a very happy Jane-Of-All-Trades when I worked. I've spent the last 12 years helping to restore the home we live in, which belonged to my husband's grandparents. I've used the knowledge of carpentry, some electrical and plumbing expertise, and general repairs that my Dad taught me when I was growing up. Among the jobs I've had -- pet groomer, office mgr, restaurant cook, retail stocker, receptionist, counselor, and independent baker. I try hard to treat people the way I would like to be treated. I believe in God, and love Jesus for the sacrifice He made for me. I like oldies rock stations, some classical music, some R&B. I miss New York City, where I was born, but learned to love the beauty of the mid-west when we were (job-related) transferred there.

My Interests

I love a good variety of books to read-- mysteries, classics, old hometown novels, etc. I don't watch a lot of TV, but do enjoy Forensic Files, Psyche!, and American Justice. I like fishing, challenging puzzles (NY Times), redecorating and restoring our older home, seeing my two children and my grandchildren (a grandson, 3, and a grandaughter, who's now a year old -- I just love those two!), warm summer evenings sitting outside with our two pugs, walking quiet, secluded beaches in the evenings, cooking and (especially) baking for everyone. I have beautiful flower gardens in the warmer weather, and love to play in the dirt. We have hummingbirds and various small wildlife in our back yard that we feed. My husband and I help stock the local food pantries every month.

Thursday Late Afternoon, July 16th, 2009 Hi, everyone. How are you all doing, and how is your summer going? I am sorry I have not been on much and kept up with all of you. I am now back home still have things to move back but I am doing well and happy and so is the rest of the family. All is great here. We really haven't done too much for this summer. I plan on getting some camping, swimming, and fishing in as a family and other things before the summer is over and school starts back up. I finally put down some decon and killed my mice problem that way. Most of them are gone for once. Hope they stay gone. LOL. I hate mice. Except for Mickey Mouse of course. He don't count in this situation though. I am watching a rerun of Nanny 911. I always learn some parenting skills off of watching that show. That is how I got all of my children off of the bottle. It actually does work some of the tatics she uses. I am going to clean up my friends list, and my profile page, and cpr prayer group. If I bump you off and you want to be on my friends list still just send me a request and I will put you back on. A lot of people are no longer here and I have not heard from many people also. Hello to everyone! It's been a while since I've been able to get back here, and I'm so glad to see all you wonderful friends again.
