My husband has went through I guess his second bout with colitis, this time a little different. The same pain, severe, went to ER this time the xrays showed a 6 inch and a 2 inch dark spot on 2 sites of his colon. He has to see another doctor. In the meantime, no bowel movements, has tried everthing, no bowel movement. He looks very extended in his belly region. When he did have a bowel movement in the ER, it was retched smelling and very dark in color and he feels as though he is so backed up that he can not stand it. What is going on and what do you all out there think. His lifestyle is not pretty, he is supposed to be on a bi-pap machine, his sleep apnea is off the charts. He smokes, and he gets no exercise at all nothing, zilch. He lays 16 to 20 hours out of 24. This is not only driving me crazy, I am losing all feelings for this man because he will not help himself. He has neck problems and he is addicted to pain medication also.
