I'm an old lady who forgets and still wants to seek and learn like a kid. I got 'downsized' out of my 33 yr job making Glad bags, so now I'm getting a retirement check and working part time in a laundromat. It's my first job working with the public, and I'm horrified and wowed by turns..somtimes both by the same people on the same day! I enjoy quietly cleaning while watching people, and some of my customers try to teach me about the Marshalese lifestyle, or try to tech me to speak Spanish (with an Arkansas twang.) I have 2 grown sons, 4 grandchildren, and a 12 yr old hairless Black Lab with a sweet nature, a kickin' sense of humor, and a bigger vocabulary than lots of folks I know. My computer is named Martha Stewart because she's a bit of a 'B' and can't always be trusted. If I get a day off work (or even in the hours I'm off on a workday) I'm usually playing "Ferry God Mother", which means ferrying around poor souls desperate enough for a ride to climb in a truck with a blind, gray, exblonde female driver. Some women are excellent drivers but I basically herd a car down the road. My best point is KNOWING it, so I don't get all egotistical and cocky. I really enjoy this site but am still not real computer savvy, so some very basic terms stymie me. Like what does 'My Homepage URL' mean? My email address? I'm working on a photo for my avatar but so far it is winning.

I enjoy gardening, reading, doing research, baking, crafting, working on machinery, drawing, writing, and learning about computers or anything new. My favorite store is a hardware store, where I can browse for hours looking at things whose name and function I'm ignorant of but can imagine several uses around the house. I get a lot of satisfaction from being self sufficient, and can usually devise a way to accomplish things. I get a kick out of listening to people, and often find that a new approach or outlook gives me hours of interestiing ponder on a subject I thought I knew well.
