I see that you like to read and I'd like your opinion on something since you enjoy a good debate. 
Recently, I read a Dean Koontz novel that I thoroughly enjoyed.  During the novel, a 40 year old woman kidnaps a 12 year old boy.  She approaches his from behind and covers his mouth with her hand to prevent him from screaming for help to the neighbors.  This is the part I find unrealistic since women have such small hands.
Do you think a grown womans hand is big enough to even cover a little boys mouth to keep him quiet? If so, how close to his nose might her hand come? What part of her hand might accidentally come closest to his nose? And do you think the boy would be forced to smell her hand as she kept him quiet with it?
Again, women have small hands and tend to be weaker than boys.  What do you think of this? I'd appreciate any feedback.
