In addition to giving him assurance that everything will be normal after the surgery, he should be treated as a normal child, nothing more or nothing less than a normal child. he should be encouraged in excel in something which he is interested in whether school subject, art culture or sport so that he gets back his confidence. Ritik roshan and meena kumari famous film stars in India both have similar problme but having excelled in their career no one ever noticed this so called defect. your son will be able to overcome it once you start giving him this encouragement
