Here's something I came up with that uses each letter of the alphabet to list something to do with Christopher Columbus:

is for Americas – Christopher Columbus’s most important discovery.
B
is for Belief, which is something Christopher Columbus did not have when it
came to his discovery of the New World. He died a non-believer.
C
is for Christopher Columbus’s real name was Cristoforo Colombo.
D
is for Death – he died on 20 May 1506.
E
is for Explorer, which is what the great man was.
F
is for Ferdinand
and Isabella,
who Christopher wanted to finance his journey.
G
is for Genoa, the place where Christopher Columbus was born.
H
is for Heavenly intervention because Christopher Columbus was a very religious
and believed God was spurring him on.
I
is for Islands, which he often named for religion.
J
is for Journey, which is what he took.
K
is for the King and Queen of Spain who made Columbus a governor.
L
is for laughing stock – which is what Christopher Columbus became when he
suggested the Earth was pear-shaped.

is for Money, the explorer’s number one motivation.

is for New World, which is what Christopher Columbus discovered.

is for ‘What are we to do?’ That’s what Columbus and his men must have thought
when they found themselves marooned on Jamaica.

is for (e)Xtremely wealthy but quite disappointed, which is what Columbus was
when he died, sadly.
Y
is for the Year 1504, which is when Columbus’s fleet found itself stuck in the
Caribbean.
Z
is for Zoos, which is where you’re most likely to find many of the exotic
animals discovered by Columbus.
