Great day!  I love movies and really miss our local drive-in.  And my favorite is live theater!

A little story:  When I was a teenager, my boyfriend and I fell asleep at the drive-in (a la Wake Up Little Suzie).  When we woke up, the place was empty, and we took off  very quickly without unhooking the two speakers in the windows.  I don't know why the windows didn't break.  In any case, I showed them to my grandpa.  He mounted them in our screened-in patio and hooked them up to our stereo.  (Best grandpa ever!)

There is a drive-in theatre  in a neighboring county but I haven't been there in a few years. I used to go to the all-nighters when I was younger. Mrs. MM and I do however manage to take some of our grandchildren to a local amphitheater for a movie under the stars. It might not be one of my favorite movies, but it is still fun.

Hello Mountain Man. Thank you for sharing your answer with us and thanks for sharing the picture with us that is awesome !!! I hope your day was a Blessed one !!! Yes where i live we have one drive-in located in Brownsville Pa but that's about it. They did have a Coyle Theatre but no one kept the upkeep of it and they left it go so to this day it just sits there and the last time i was there was in like 1985 but it closed it's doors like some years later. I wish they still had the Hilltop drive-in it was located in Carroll Township / Fisher Heights Pa but that is about it. Well have a good day and wish you the best for the rest of your day !!!

This is definitely my kind of day , I've loved Drive-In theater since I was a kid, and there just happens to be three left in the state of Connecticut and I still go to the one in Mansfield Connecticut it's about an hour and a half Drive but oh so worth it.

I am not really a movie person. I just don't have the patience to sit and just watch for 2 hours. Oh but the drive in! Such great memories! Sundays were $1 carload night. In the early 70s cars were huge, and in the late 70s when I was in high school half the people had them because you could buy them cheap. We would fit 8 people in the car and another 2 in the trunk, along with a cooler of beer. The drive in upgraded to where you could get the sound by using your radio. We would use a blanket to sit on the hood and watch the movie, or socialize. Years later a tornado spawned from a hurricane took out the screen. The owner never rebuilt. There were a lot of sad people when they announced that.
