Depends on the choice and age.
Parents should slowly give more and more responsibility to their kids to give them a sense of independence and build up their confidence.

Depending on who the person is. If the child is really immature and doesn't have a great personality, parents should rarely let them choose.

As long as those choices have nothing to do with their health, safety, responsibilities, living arrangements, education, legal matters, finances, or anyone else’s, ...then sure.

Only when they are responsible enough and of legal age.

It depends. With small children, you can give them a choice of this cereal or that cereal. With older children, parents should be able to give them more a voice in what's going on. Really depends on what's going on.

Hello there,

I believe that kids should be allowed to make their own
choices in certain situations. It is true that since they are young, they do
not have enough sensibility to take serious decisions, but they can at least be
allowed to choose what
they want to study, or in which activity they want to participate. This will
also give them some sense
of responsibility.

As long as it wouldn't  have an impact on their grades or well being we would allow them to suffer the consequences of their actions.  ,Often we would warn them "If you do this, you aren't going to like the results" and then let them find out their parents were right.
