Jr just went on his first log ride. Do you remember your first big amusement park ride? What was it?

Thank you for the info my dear friend. 😅 I would have probably told Yang "our next family outing, let's go to Long Beach!" 😂

I was in fourth grade, we were at a carnival. I was tall for my age and was fascinated by this ride that looked like the scariest one there. It would spin around like a giant ferris wheel and the individual cars that held two passengers would spin around too. Not for the faint at heart. I passed the height requirement and went on. I loved it and from then on would have to ride the scariest ride at any amusement park, fair or carnival. My dad went with me that first time and loved that I shared his love of all coasters and scary looking rides. A sweet memory.

The "Cyclone Racer" roller coaster in 1954 at The Pike in Long Beach, California.  (I've been a roller coaster fanatic ever since!)

I was  like a 11-14 ..My first big Amusement Park was Kennywood Park located near Clairton Pa  not far from Pittsburgh Pa.. I rode the " Log Jammer" and just this pass Summer, Kennywood retired the ride. But i enjoyed it but i always looked down when i was about to come down that big drop from the top cause water would splash sometimes it was a water ride but i can remember that ride to this day really amazing i haven't been down to that Park since year 1999-2000 i went with my mom but we just walked around , ate and drank some things , we rode the Train ride and saw few people down there it wasn't all that bad.

Awe! 😔 Cancer is horrible. It's not prejudice. It sees no age, race, gender, political party, religious affiliations, financial status, upper/middle/lower class, etc. What I have noticed in my years on earth, is that it is no longer "I know someone who knows some one with cancer." It is now unfortunately "I know someone with or who had cancer." My younger sister had leukemia. My mom has had skin cancer removed so they watch her very well and she's been skin cancer free for a few years now.

The rollercoaster at Battersea Fun Fair, alas no longer with us.

From Wikipedia

"The funfair's most spectacular ride was a roller coaster called The Big Dipper, which opened in 1951. It was of wooden construction and suffered a major fire in 1970. It was closed after five children were killed and 13 injured in an accident on 30 May 1972 when one of the trains became detached from the haulage rope, rolling back to the station (the anti-rollback mechanism having failed) and colliding with the other train. This is the worst accident in the history of theme parks. The lack of a main attraction led to the decline in the popularity of the funfair and its eventual closure in 1974."
