Sort of. We had one starting in front of the house. The city was out very quick to fix it. Turns out there was a leak in a pipe under the street causing the pavement to get soft. They had to bring in the big equipment, fix that pipe line, then fill it back up. Jr had so much fun watching the workers. And they were so sweet back to him. He (safely) was allowed to peek in the hole and Yang was able to be with him and he sat on the back hoe.
No not first hand. But, I did see what one did in Orlando at few years ago. So glad we weren’t there.
Every time I have to fish one of my granddaughter’s toys out of the garbage disposal.
Not the moment it opened up, but afterwards. Our town had one on the main road through town. It shut down the north bound lanes for weeks. There was no easy way around either. The detour route plus the added traffic along tht route added 20 minutes to any trip in that direction. The drive was nothing compared to the poor people who lived in the nearby apartments. They were without water for over 24 hours, and then were under a boil water for about a week.
They are common in Florida, but I’ve never seen one first hand.
