I don't believe that has happened yet. ☺
Did you ever have an epiphany “moment” that you realized you were no longer a child? If so, what was the event?
It was either (1) When a neighbour asked me to fix her car.
or
(2) When her (very pretty) grown-up daughter decided to hug me rather a lot after I had done that.
Many years later, I remember that day very clearly, and rather fondly.
The day my mother drove away leaving me with a 5 and 7 year old. I was 9.
Not really. I was in high school, and then I was old. (Can't quite figure out how it happened.)
When I was 19 and my girlfriend told me I was going to be a father.
No, but I was raised being more responsible than most people. My mom was a single parent who worked two jobs. I took over cooking dinner in my early teens. When I got my driver's license at 16 I took over the grocery shopping. At 18 I was on her checking account so I could pay bills.
