I always figured it was a disgruntled woman who just found out her lover was cheating on her so in a fit of rage she takes her shoe off and throws it at his head; missing his head of course and it goes flying out the window! 😅
Must be a morphed analogy similar to the lost sock in the laundry.
That is an interesting question. Maybe someone left the shoe
that got worn out on the side of the road and decided to keep the one which was
still in good condition. This is not very probable though. I think that if you
look a bit further, you will see the other shoe lying around.
