Getting my driver's license. :)
One of the Yin and Yang youngins will be 16 this month. Got me thinking, what is your favorite memory of being 16?
Left the orphanage.
Got kicked out.
Had my first boyfriend.
Getting my driver's license.

Like Willie and Mountain Man, it was my driver's license. On the morning of my birthday, I was waiting at the door when the DMV opened.
My mother wouldn't let me get my regular driver's license on my birthday because she didn't think I had enough experience behind the wheel. She worked 2 jobs and didn't have time to teach me to drive. So my grandmother flew my up to NY where she was on vacation. She let me drive the whole time up there and on the road trip home back to FL. When we got back, my grandmother took me down to get my license.
Probably the newfound freedom of being able to drive and having friends who could drive. There was a lot of aimless driving around on warm nights (which was more fun than it sounds), seeing if there were parties going on. That was also the summer I went to DisneyWorld with my boyfriend--good times :)
