I call it soda or Coke, I don't think I've ever called it pop.

Iโ€™ve never called it pop either. Itโ€™s always been soda. When I was a kid, it was sody.

Usually, I use the name of the drink itself---Dr. Pepper, 7-UP, or (occasionally) Ginger Ale.

But never "pop."

I usually say coke or sprite. But itโ€™s soda in the South. The first time I heard someone talking about pop, I just to ask what are you talking about. Never heard pop before or since.

I have always called it soda, but my sister-in-law calls it pop. I have had a friend or two call it Coke, even though they meant soda in general.ย
