Here is what i found for you :

Why does a doctor need a chaperone?

Having chaperones present can also help prevent misunderstandings between patient and physician. Physicians should: (a) Adopt a policy that patients are free to request a chaperone and ensure that the policy is communicated to patients. (b) Always honor a patient's request to have a chaperone

When my Family doctor examines my private areas she requests a chaperone cause she is protecting herself , a patient can say anything about a doctor and i don't blame her and i agree with her usually this takes place when i have a Yeast Infection in my area .

Do you know if the patient is allowed to reject having a chaperone if they are offered one?

My physician examines my Man area she has a nurse come in but the nurse hides her face .But she has to be there for the doctor , so patients don't say something . Not all people can be trusted . Than not all doctors are the same
