I buy one at goodwill there a good price.
What price do you usually pay for a book? What is too pricey for a book? And if a book is priced too low do you automatically assume it is a piece of junk?
At library book sales, I pay $1-2 for a book. That's the kind of price I like. They're usually all in good condition too.
At used book stories, I expect to pay under $10.
Sometimes I will buy brand new books, but it's rare. I recently did because I'm afraid this bookstore will go out of business. So I paid $35 for a brand new hardcover of something I've wanted to read for a while.
But for the most part, if I'm buying books that aren't textbooks, I'd want to pay $10 or less (and the majority of the time, I buy used).Â
Last few I bought were at Target wit 20% off. I also tend to buy paperbacks, so that keeps the price down. So I generally pay less than $10. And I never base a book on the price.
I pay anywhere from $5 - $20 depending on the book. Most times I order them from Bargain Books mail order catalog.
I don't buy them just for price, I get whatever sparks my interest the most. Just because they are cheap in price doesn't mean they are cheap in content.
Most of the books I buy are used, but if it was new and something I really wanted to read, I would pay up to $15.00 for it.Â
