Diabetes can be regulated by daily insulin injections and diet control. Unfortunately, oral medications that have been developed for treating diabetes have proven ineffective for dogs. Every pet is different, so a specific course of treatment will need to be prescribed by your veterinarian. Insulin treatment is usually based on weight, but weekly glucose curves … Read more

My first three dogs have had it done. They were having some other procedure done and the teeth were done while they were already under anesthesia. They have never had any problems afterwards. I have Boxers which unfortunately have a tendency to grow epuli or gingival hyperplasia. Both are benign growths on the gums. If … Read more

No problems for my dog, the only risk was the anaesthesia. Dental disease in dogs, not only causes rotten teeth and bad gums but the bacteria can also get into the bloodstream and infect vital organs, it is associated with heart disease so teeth cleaning is important.

There are several things it could be. The only way to know for sure is to get him to the vet. I would suggest sooner rather than later.

If she is sleeping more than usual 4 days post-op, I would call the vet for advice. If she is eating and drinking normally as well as going potty, I wouldn't be as concerned, but would still call. If she isn't eating or drinking much I would be taking her into the vet.

If it's by injection about 3 seconds to inject it.  You just pinch the skin between two fingers and use a small thin needle and it's literally seconds to administer.  They only need a tiny amount.

The cat we had didn't move an inch and sometimes kept on sleeping.  It certainly caused her no distress.
