Glenn McGrath, the Australian fast bowler is the highest wicket taker in Cricket World Cup history. He has taken a total of 71 wickets in 39 World Cup matches in a tournament career which lasted from 1996 - 2007.

McGrath also holds numerous other World Cup bowling records, he has the best bowling figures of any player in a world cup match, taking seven wickets for fifteen runs against Namibia in the 2003 World Cup. McGrath has the lowest bowling average in World Cup history at 19.21 and the record for the most wickets in a single tournament, when he took 26 wickets in the 2007 World Cup.
