Sabotage basically is a premeditated action intended to weaken an enemy, tyrant, or employer via subversion, obstruction, disruption or destruction.

The term comes from early in the Industrial Revolution. It is regularly said that mechanical looms might be dented by livid or dissatisfied workers flinging their wooden shoes or clogs into the machinery, successfully congesting the machinery. This generally said to be the initial inklings of the Luddite movement. Though this etymologic is greatly speculated and till date no wooden shoe sabotage is identified to have been reported from the period the word came into existence.

In war, the expression is applied to illustrate the action of a person or group which is not connected with the military of the parties at war, meticulously when actions consequent in the devastation or damage of a productivity or essential ability, like equipment, factories, dams, public service, etc.
