Subjected to the scientific method tells one spiritual beliefs ( as to religion ) are nonsense.

Not one bit of evidence has ever been put forward in support of spiritual beliefs in religion. One could be spiritual without being religious but one would not need any beliefs for that, just a sense of wonder.
