Emo is short for emotionally unstable

An ''emo''  lives a sad life.  They're depressed,  follow Gothic fashion choices and even cut themselves to relieve emotional pain by replacing it with physical pain (That's how it was explained to me).  It's not a ''lifestyle'' someone should follow.
