So what do you think about climbing a mountain after I graduate high school? Or is there another time I should do it? And also, any recommendations on mountains would be helpful too

If you aren't an inexperienced climber it's a bad idea.  It's the inexperienced climbers that tend to get in the way and often get others killed because the experienced climbers have to babysit them up and down very dangerous slopes. 

Get climbing lessons and stick to mountains close to home.
