There's  a lot of medical illnesses and death caused by eating disorders too ...anorexia, binge eating, bulimia,, yo-yo dieting causing serious strokes, serious malnutrition, along with the dangers of other extreme dieting requiring  hours and hours of psychotherapy along with medical intervention. Focusing on the overweight would just increase these problems.
