I caught a mouse with my bare hands yesterday. People are telling me they should be hibernating, I say no way because this was not the first mouse I've seen outside in Winter. Do mice typically hibernate?

No they do not.  I often see them at the bird feeder getting spilled seed.  They are like squirrels.  During extreme cold they can go into a mini hibernation or torpor sleep.
